we started on a studio song today
i’m taking a break from today’s pre-prod session.
we talked about schedules and stuff, and finally accepted the possibility of a studio song… the concept was weird to me at first (i mean this is surgery we’re talking about), but hey, nothing can’t be done.
so we hit a few notes and i went on to writing it - composing the beats and bass line and guitar stuff all at once. we wanted it to sort of sound like a mix of Sneaker Pimps’ Post-Modern Sleaze, Jeff Buckley’s Everybody Here Wants You, Incubus’ Aquaeous Transmission, and a whole lot of synthesizers. well, not a lot, but just enough to actually make this whole thing feel like a studio song.
i’m also considering some stems to be recorded for the drums live. we’ll see how it goes. for now, enjoy the photospam. should i say sorry? haha.
